La Villa Italian Restaurant Menu Prices  – Brooklyn, NY

During my recent trip I set out to find good restaurants where the dining experience did not come at the expense of a 2 or 3 hour wait in a Manhattan restaurant, nothing personal against the restaurant or the patron that wishes to wait that long to eat. I simply do not. I set my sights on La Villa Italian restaurant in Park Slope Brooklyn. I can tell you this, you will not be disappointed. The price and the food was extra-ordinary.

The Villa has a large extensive menu and prices are rounded off like most good restaurants tend to do. My dining experience at La Villa was fantastic. As a vacationer, I was able to pick up a tab for my family and guests a total of 8 people for under $200.00 including tip. Actually the bill was $178.00 and I add some extra tip for the waitress. Keeping this bill under $190.00.

Here is a simple breakdown as to what was ordered by my family and guests. Keep in mind also that many of these Italian restaurants that offer brick oven pizza, or any other style of pizza, do not sell these by the slice. If you are looking for that visit the local pizzeria. OK on to the order:

  • 1 order of potato cheese sticks
  • 1 order of fried calamari (not fried enough for my taste, I like them crispier)
  • 1 (One) Large four cheese brick oven pizza
  • 1 Balsamic chicken salad
  • 1 Baked Ziti w/ chicken
  • 2 (Two) Beef lasagnas
  • 6 beverages (Colas)
  • 1 Glass of wine

La Villa Italian restaurant in Brooklyn, also brings you bread (garlic) but it is not the traditional rolls that you may be used to. They bring the bread out in a crispy, crackly bread with garlic. It sure was delicious, but not your traditional garlic rolls or bread that you may be used to seeing at your local Italian restaurant. The food overall was very good, the service as well, the place is not incredibly large, so on a busy Saturday night or Friday night you may have to wait a little bit, but not 2 hours for sure. Next time you are traveling in NY stop by La Villa in Brooklyn, NY you will not regret it.

Shrimp-Fest At Red Lobster…What’s It All About?

Coma gratis en Red LobsterIf you like shrimp, you will love the shrimp-fest at Red Lobster, but you’d better hurry this offer is for a limited time only. What does $14.99 get you at Red Lobster right now?  Well during shrimp-fest, it gets you all the shrimp you can eat. Just had it this weekend, and here is what I can share with you about the special pricing on during this special time.

The Shrimp-Fest @ Red Lobster Is Great!

The shrimp is truly all you can eat. You can literally sit there for a while and your waiter will keep bringing the shrimp, and if your waiter is smart he or she will place your order in two at a time. This cuts down on the wait time, and also allows you to enjoy all the shrimp you can eat. Believe me, I ate plenty!

Well first of all it is not easy to find on the menu, the print is small and rightfully so. They don’t want you to order it. But if you are like me, you look forward to this every year, and I do. I love the shrimp and the taste is out of this world. Additionally for the price, you really cannot beat it. Here is a look at this year’s shrimp list:

  • Parmesan Crusted Shrimp
  • Shrimp Linguine
  • Breaded Shrimp
  • Shrimp Scampi
  • Garlic Shrimp

The plate comes with two sides. You can choose from the sides of their menu to include items like mashed potato’s, french fries, rice, and a few other sides. Additionally the order comes with your choice of garden salad or Caesar salad, and do not forget the most incredible tasting cheddar biscuits. If they make these better anywhere else, I certainly have not tasted them. Completely awesome!!!

One important note, the shrimp keeps coming but the sides do not, so in short if you want more sides, you will have to pay for them. Regardless of whether you choose to pay for another side here or there, the shrimp are incredible and the price is not something that you can easily match anywhere else for great seafood taste.

Lobster Bisque At Red Lobster

I would also like to note that one of the main stays for my order when I visit Red Lobster is the Lobster Bisque. It is absolutely the best Lobster Bisque that I have ever tasted. Real chunks of Lobster and an incredible tasting soup. If you are looking for a great family-home cooked Italian meal, look no further than the Big Cheese. Nothing goes better than Italian food, comfortable home style dining and the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. Football season is full swing and with the Hurricanes 4-2 record this year things are looking up. So get fed and watch the canes at your favorite Italian restaurants. Today’s spotlight is going to be on my last trip there with the fam.

The Best Meat Stromboli Ever!

My last trip there was about two weeks ago. My kids always order the usual. I normally do as well. But this time I wanted something new and exciting and I was not in the mood for the traditional Italian food dinner, you know the lasagna, Spaghetti and meatballs, Baked Ziti, the usual. I ordered the meat Stromboli and it was the best Stromboli that I can remember having. It was filling, plenty of meat, and it is not cheap but I will tell you this. You are going to get every penny’s worth.

If you live in South Florida and have never made the trip to the Big Cheese, here is what you can expect. Great Italian home style cooked food. No corners are cut here. Great family ambiance. Great prices for any budget. Even if all you want is cheese pizza, get it here. It is the best, and you will not be disappointed. The last time I ate there is dawned on me, I had never written the the Big Cheese a review, so here it is. If you love everything about our beloved Miami Hurricanes, and love to see the memorabilia like so many of these restaurants try and do. Here is your chance to see homegrown talent like Ed Reed, and Jim Kelly and so many others up on the walls, and enjoy some of the best home cooked Italian food that I guarantee you will leave feeling like this is going to be a stop that you are going to be making frequently.
